Arthur Miller

Arthur Miller passed away last night. He gave us such greats as Death of a Salesman (which I was lucky enough to see at The Guthrie with Ryan last summer) and The Crucible (a frequently taught text during the Puritan unit of American Literature in my high school). His recent Resurrection Blues debuted at The Guthrie.

Like Sontag, he was alive to know what a signficance his life played on American literature. He will be missed, though through his words, he will live on in the classrooms, on stage, and in the home for many generations to come.
